Sitting on the grocery line for five minutes? Check the phone, text a friend, comment on a blog post, check work e-mail. Where's the down time?

-Donna--They are quite effective for keeping people together in that context. We used to use walkie-talkies. Not anymore!

-Cathrina--I can't believe I've finally been absorbed by the rest of you! I'm definitely avoiding games and all the social media apps, though. That's not my thing.

-Lexa--I'm curious what makes your cellphone hard to talk on--does it require three hands to operate or something? And it's always a pleasure to read (and comment on) your blog!

-Linda--I will not be the new convert who is the most zealous advocate for something new ever. Hold out as long as you can!

-Nick--The dogs were trying to save you from being one of those annoying types Cathrina mentioned. The nice thing about cell phone plans now is they generally can be borrowed without the person having to worry about being charged for every minute!

Thanks for everyone stopping by, reading and sharing your thoughts.JeffOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07947660745120963286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8281000668036619727.post-79948210288613332102015-08-02T05:14:06.394-04:002015-08-02T05:14:06.394-04:00I am another one in the minority and don't (cu...I am another one in the minority and don't (currently) own a cell phone - well, I do, but the dogs have chewed through the charger which hasn't been replaced... I've only ever had a basic model, not a smartphone, and I would only use it to stay in touch with my wife if I'm out. Now I borrow someone's phone if I have to. Definitely see it as something that should serve a purpose, not something that should take over your life!Nick Wilfordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03841776353790635132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8281000668036619727.post-25716186613627477202015-08-01T00:56:53.638-04:002015-08-01T00:56:53.638-04:00LOL! I don't like getting calls and have deliberately bought a Chinese brand that is very hard to talk on! lol But a few times texts are important, But I get far more spams from my provider than I send texts...

Thanks for commenting on my blog! With a new project, it takes me months to iron out characters and plot points and outline, so it's essential I figure one out while still working on the current WIP. We discovered the benefits of texting when the family went to Disneyland. We had park hopper passes and three teenaged boys. I could try to call but who could hear to talk? That's when I became a fan. To do that in lieu of talking to a person right with me? Not a fan of that though.Donna K. But I know what you mean about once you have one... I have to admit, they come in handy sometimes. I just don't like how they can take away from having an actual conversation. Soon people won't know HOW to talk to one another.Stacy McKitrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07898731847653710759noreply@blogger.com
