Monday Musing

Random bits and pieces of thought on this final Monday of February.

*First, having seen this, I may have to reconsider last Monday's post.

The man could wield a mighty axe, that's for sure.

*Watched the Academy Awards for the first time in I don't know how many years last night. It makes me realize how far behind I am on movies. I hadn't heard of most of the stuff that was nominated. The show was mostly enjoyable, though I'm reminded once again that High Definition is good for two things: sports, and seeing any and all wrinkles and unsightly blemishes on a person's face.

*Speaking of sports, today is the National Hockey League's Trade Deadline. That means I'm going to be struggling to work on revisions while trying not to be distracted by TSN's Trade Tracker or Jay Onrait's online blog (also from tsn.ca), which is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on the web, even though, not being from Canada, I don't get half the jokes. And I'm hoping my Bruins don't mortgage the farm to get Rick Nash.

*Blogger drives me crazy. About once a week I have to go and re-follow Cynthia Chapman Willis' Blog and The Quintessentially Questionable Query Experiment. I don't know why.

*We had more snow this weekend than we did all winter. I actually had to use that...uh...shovel, yeah, that's it.

That's all for today, have a good week, all.

  1. Blogger gave me those issues too. I had to follow everyone using google friend connect in order for it to work.

  2. Okay, the video just makes me smile. If he could do all that, why was Booth able to sneak up on him. Tell me that!

I totally missed the Academy Awards. I don't even know what was nominated. lol

    1. Guess Booth wasn't a vampire. If George is a Zombie Killer than maybe the odds even out again.

  3. Jeff! Do you know how much I've been sweating over the NHL trade deadline for the past week? Nash (or should I say, the team's GM Scott Howson) almost gave me a heart attack!

    1. I saw that Howson has now put the blame squarely on Nash's shoulders. Should make for an interesting off-season out there.

    2. Yeah, Howson isn't my favorite human being. (At all.) Did you see Nash's press conference? He handled it very well.

  4. We're getting a few more inches of snow again tonight - not too much though.

I love Jay Onraet and TSN's other sportscasters. I am Canadian, and the jokes you're not getting are funny too! :)

  5. Holy hell--what will they think up next? I will have to see this. :)

  6. We have HDTV, too, but my vision is so bad I miss all the details. Probably a good thing. Wish I could've missed that stupid leg thing Angelina did during the Oscars. What was she thinking?! That's really weird about Blogger dropping your follows. I've never had that problem. Wonder what's causing it? I apologize for not being around as much lately. Between all the blogfests, the Platform-building Campaign, and now the college scholarship applications, I am just worn out!

  7. Ack! I'm so sorry that Blogger is giving you a hard time with my blog. Is there something I can do on my end? Blogger boggles me, too, sometimes. I'll try following you again. Maybe that will help.

    In the meanwhile, happy revising!

  8. Nancy - Angelina's leg - that was pretty bad. I think she was trying to take the attention off her arms, which were as skinny as a spider's leg. Ick. No worries about being around. Scholarships first - good luck, we're in the same boat.

Cynthia - as long as you're not saying "Damn! He found me again!" It just seems to be yours and Matt's that unhook. Who knows why.

  9. I once tried to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but I couldn't get into it. This one looks like it will make a good movie, though.

And thanks for your commitment, Jeff. I don't know what's wrong with blogger.

  10. I am sad for the snow situation. I read in chronological order. I am sad for the Blogger too.
